“My husband and I stayed at the Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata at the end of March for two nights to celebrate a very special birthday. We booked through Hotels.com which gave us free parking as a silver perk which was a nice little bonus. From the time we arrived until the moment we left, it was absolutely perfect. The underground parking is a real bonus here. The spots are nice and wide and the garage is clean. It’s a quick elevator ride to the lobby where we were able to check in early. Staff were very welcoming and clearly explained how everything worked including what we needed to do at checkout to leave the parking. Next we headed to our room. We had a king and it was so pretty. We were on a corner with big huge windows and even a balcony with two chairs and a table overlooking the golf course which was a nice surprise. If only it had been warmer. The room itself was quite large with lots of seating and a nice big TV. There was a great coffee maker for morning coffee and I’ll give that a 7/10. Pretty good. We also had a safe, robes, extra blankets, mini fridge, lots of glasses and mugs and an ice bucket. There were lots of places to charge your devices and good lighting for reading. The bathroom was nicely laid out with a separate shower and tub. Only one sink but it was fine. Pretty average amenities…shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand lotion. Lots of towels and a good hairdryer. It also had a makeup mirror which I really appreciate as a person who wears glasses to see. It can be very difficult to put on makeup without being able to see yourself in the regular mirror. I had placed an order for some treats for the room…a bottle of wine, a couple beers, cheese & crackers, a fruit tray and a bottle of sparking water. It was laid out so beautifully along with a nice birthday card and some amazing chocolates on the house. This hotel has a restaurant, jazz bar, cafe, spa, swimming pool, golf course, outdoor skating rink and so much more but we only visited the bar for a quick drink before hitting the town. The drinks were lovely and service was quick. I’d like to go back for the music sometime. I also thought it was a nice touch that there was a doorman who always opened the doors for us. Very cute. Overall I would say this is a great hotel with upscale amenities, lots to do and a pretty location. We would definitely go back if we were in the area.”
