“I am a vegan and my husband is a vegetarian. I was pleasantly surprised that each meal had tasty vegan and vegetarian options available. The only disappointing meal was dinner around the boma. There were few vegan options and when I asked the chef, he just pointed me to the pap, green beans and tomato gravy. When I went back to ask if there were more options, he then asked if he could make me something special, but it was too late. When my husband and I stayed at Shepard's Tree Lodge, the chef had prepared a special vegan meal and dessert for me, for dinner around the boma. I was expecting the same and surprised by the chef's attitude. I didn't like the one chef who didn't cater for a vegan dinner around the boma especially because I informed the lodge well in advance that I was a vegan.”
