“My boyfriend and I chose a staycation in St. Augustine and I appreciated being able to use my IHG employee rate for an affordable stay. The hotel appears newly renovated, and the check-in service was excellent. However, I found the $200 incidental fee quite high for the amenities provided, even considering it is a full-service hotel and the fee is refunded at check-out. Our room was a connecting room, and the peephole cover was broken on both sides, allowing visibility into the adjoining room. After notifying the Front Desk, the staff provided a sticky note and tape to cover the hole, which I appreciated since we did not have tape available in the car. While noise from the hallway was noticeable, it did not significantly impact our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and I appreciated that the front desk could provide a beer after the bar closed. Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to enjoy the bar or try their creative drinks. The location is convenient, with historic downtown St. Augustine just a 20-minute walk across the bridge, which is preferable to driving and searching for parking in the evening.”
