“This hotel is a fantastic historic hotel opened in 1913 and filled with Gilded Age glory. It is dark and warm and rich. The exterior is really just a block building but inside is another story. We were upgraded to a suite and the room was great but the bathroom was excellent! Lots of marble. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant - Le Cavalier. It is so beautiful and so French! Breakfast was really good - I had the oatmeal and it wasn't your ordinary oatmeal. Definitely indulge in the restaurant if you are staying at the hotel. We also ordered room service for dinner - we only stayed 1 night while traveling - and the food was very good. We had the charcuterie plate, Caesar salad, shrimp cocktail and cheesesteak rolls (not sure of the name) and everything was very good. There is also a food hall and other merchants within the building, which is convenient. We ended up getting manicures at Currie down the hall from the restaurant. All in all a wonderful, quick stay and would definitely stay again if ever in Wilmington, DE.”
