“Disclosure: I rated 4 stars because I never actually visited the property. I prepaid our reservation to secure a lower non-refundable rate via the corporate booking platform. Two months later we had to cancel due to a death in my friends employment family. I called to request a refund & was told that the owner would have to call me back because she was not authorized to issue a refund. A few hours later the owner called me, as promised. Let me tell you that when you book ANY travel-related reservations via a corporate or third-party platform you have almost 0% chance of getting refund. The owner of this hotel, not the booking platform, was empathic to the situation and graciously issued a full refund to me. If you are not familiar with the travel industry, let me assure you that this is highly unusual. The owners empathic gesture is most certainly appreciated. Thank you sir.”
