“Our stay here was unplanned as we were unable to leave Bangkok as a result of the trouble in the Gulf. Our flight was cancelled at 4am and after a breakfast at the airport we made our way to the hotel for the first of six unscheduled nights. What a fabulous place. Lovely, spacious rooms, beautiful scenery, great food, fantastic pool. The thing that makes this hotel though is the staff. Some teething troubles were evident - the hotel only became a Hilton in January and the transition was maybe not that smooth. Coupled with an unexpected influx of stressed tourists trying to get flights out, there were a few minor issues, mainly experienced by us in the restaurant. Some staff were unsure as to the menu, courses arrived at different times etc, but the food was in the main delicious. Jumper and Nut did everything they could to sort out issues. But the stars of the show were the amazing Emmy and Ohm, two of the kindest and calmest people ever. They both deserve a payrise and a holiday. When we finally left for our flight to Japan, London and then Edinburgh, I actually felt sad to be leaving them, and there were hugs all round. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel, especially after a few days in the wonderful chaos of central Bangkok. 20 minutes from the airport, it is perfectly situated for a break before a long flight. We'll be back!”
