“You can tell this used to be an excellent hotel in its heyday. I had no complaints about the room—it was actually better than I expected, especially after reading some of the reviews. I booked anyway as I was only back in Palau for one night and had already done all my sightseeing on a previous visit. Because there were very few guests, the restaurant and bar were closed, and breakfast was provided as a takeaway pack that you had to consume in your room. The hotel is close to the airport, though a bit far from the city centre, but they can help arrange taxis into town. It's a great place to relax or if you've hired a car. All the staff were very friendly. The only downside is that you could get stuck without food since it's not close to many dining options. Thankfully, the Globus Mini Mart, about a 3-minute walk to the left when you exit the gate came to my rescue—I bought some instant noodles, and luckily there was hot water in the room. It's about a 20-minute walk to Surangel's Supercenter-Airai (mall), but note that it's closed on Saturdays. One of the pools looked usable, although I didn't swim. I'm not sure about the larger pool or the slides. Lack of food with the closed restaurant.”
