“The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job. I prepaid my stay via Booking.com using a virtual credit card. The payment was confirmed both by Booking and my bank, yet the hotel claimed they hadn’t received it and attempted to charge me again. They even called our room at 8 AM despite a clear “Do Not Disturb” sign, which was unacceptable. Instead of helping solve the issue calmly, the front desk staff tried to overcome the language barrier by loudly speaking Polish, assuming it would help – even though neither English nor German were properly spoken or understood. The bed was uncomfortable. The balcony was shared between three rooms, which made it feel not private. The in-room safe was not fixed to the wall and could be taken entirely in case of theft. The hot water in the bathroom was inconsistent and dangerously unstable – sometimes scalding hot.”
