“A convenient stopping point on the rail trail cycle trip. A short walk to the Waipiata Tavern, which is famous for it's food. The property had lovely grounds for relaxing, and the cabin / room was cozy and warm, with very comfortable beds. My son and i enjoyed our stroll around the township, before dinner. The bathroom, is one of the 3 cabin units, and while not joined to the room, is only 10m away, but very modern, clean, with great water pressure, and good hot water (ideal after a long bike ride). The hosts, were very warm and welcoming on arrival, and were part of the breakfast banter, the following morning, before departure. The two accommodation cabins for the property were a bunk room, with 4 single beds (which my son and i stayed in), and a double room. booking both, would be ideal for a family travelling through. Which is likely what we will do next time. LOVED IT!! A lack of WIFI, coupled with low cell coverage, was probably the only thing. However i didn't do the trip to hang out on my phone, so didn't care too much. Anything that was need to be checked, was done during dinner at the tavern across the road that did have free WIFI.”
