“Just checked in at this hotel in Kuantan for a work trip. Knew from the start that it'd be a twin-sharing room, but upon arrival, I was given a room with a queen bed and a single instead (See picture). The setup was entirely off. To make matters worse, the phone in the room wasn't functioning, forcing me to go down from the 6th floor to speak with reception. When I explained the situation and showed them the picture, the front desk informed me that no twin-sharing rooms were available and that there was nothing much they could do about the inconvenience. They also notified me that their sales team knew about this arrangement (and I could only presume that what they were telling me indirectly was that the organiser was fine with it). I found the reception staff's lack of accountability and absence of an apology particularly frustrating. Shifting the issue to their other department, in this case, their sales team, when a customer is right in front of them, is a no-go, too. For business travellers expecting good service from a hotel, this isn't for you.”
