“Nothing to highlight Our experience started poorly from the moment we arrived. The welcome felt disorganized and unfriendly, with little guidance on where to go, no assistance with luggage, and no clear communication during check-in. Despite informing the hotel in advance that we were attending a wedding, staff seemed unaware of the event and several requests were either ignored or handled poorly. We specifically requested a quieter room away from children but were assigned a room overlooking the main family pool. The building's elevator was out of service, requiring us to use the stairs to the fourth floor. What was presented as a temporary issue appeared to have existed for much longer according to staff. Throughout the resort we noticed signs of deferred maintenance, including broken loungers and facilities or areas that were closed during our stay. The all-inclusive experience felt surprisingly inconvenient. Restaurants often required waiting in line to speak with a host before being seated, pool and bar schedules required constant attention, and transportation between the resort and its sister property was unreliable. Rather than feeling effortless, the stay felt highly managed and unnecessarily complicated. Food quality was another disappointment. While there was plenty of food available, much of it felt generic and lacked local character. In a destination like Cozumel, we expected to see more regional cuisine and flavors from the Yucatán Peninsula. Instead, the culinary experience felt designed for mass consumption rather than reflecting the destination. Given the price of the resort, we expected a higher standard across both service and food quality.”
