“長いスリランカ旅行の最後にアーユルヴェーダを体験してみよう、良かったら次回長く泊まろうと言うことで、1泊2日で友達と予約しました。 フルボディマッサージやヘッドマッサージ、フェイシャルマッサージ、スチームサウナがついてこのホテルに泊まれるなら安いのかなと思います。スリランカの観光地で評判の良いフルボディマッサージ90分を受けた時は、4500円したので。 ただ彼らのホスピタリティと情報連携には、かなり問題があると思います。事前にホテル側から医師との調整や施術時間の調整のため、何時に到着するか、何時の飛行機で出発するのかなど連絡がありました。またトリートメントを受けるための部屋のために2人の性別は何かなど、さまざまなことを聞かれ、宿泊する1ヶ月前に連絡しました。ただ突然連絡が途絶えて返事が来なくなり、不安に思い大丈夫か確認するも連絡は来ず、3回目の連絡でやっと１週間前に連絡が再開できました。私は14:00にチェックインし、次の日の飛行機が10:30発でした。 チェックインしてから ①チェックインの際にこちらが聞くまでアーユルヴェーダの時間を知らされないし、彼らも把握していない ②じゃあ明日の朝でと言われたため、いや事前に連絡したけど朝の飛行機で帰るから無理だと伝えると、1人は今日中にアーユルヴェーダをやるけど、もう1人は朝ですと言われる ③なぜ事前に連絡したのにこんなことになってるのか2回聞くも、悪びれる態度や謝ることはなく、今日は予約がいっぱいなのでと強気な態度 ④医師の診断に関しては、AIで代われそうで　な簡単な質問のみ ⑤医師に質問しても肩こりとかに多い人がこれですのような単純な説明のみ (④⑤これについては本当に驚きました。ここの医師は日本の美容外科医と同じように、正しい施設での大した経験はないんだろうなと思いました) ⑥スタッフはドライ。スリランカの人たち特有の人懐っこさや、温かい笑顔は少ない。警備の方？調理の方？だけ 本当のアーユルヴェーダ体験ができると思っていましたが、これは別の施設に泊まった方が良さそうだなと思いました。良い学びになりました。 ２週間スリランカにいる間、ここ以外全てホームステイや知り合ったスリランカの人たちの家で宿泊しましたが、ココが1番悪い思い出です。 --------- At the end of my long trip to Sri Lanka, I decided to try an Ayurvedic experience. Hoping it would be enjoyable enough to stay longer next time, I booked a 1-night, 2-day stay with a friend. Considering it included a full-body massage, head massage, facial massage, and steam sauna along with the hotel stay, I thought it might be a good deal. For comparison, a 90-minute full-body massage at a well-rated place in Sri Lanka cost 4,500 JPY. However, I found their hospitality and communication to be seriously lacking. Before the stay, the hotel contacted me to coordinate with the doctor and schedule the treatments, asking for details such as our arrival time, departure flight, and the genders of both guests. I provided all this information a month in advance. Then, suddenly, they stopped responding, leaving me anxious. Only after my third attempt did they reply again, a week before our stay. I was checking in at 14:00, and my flight the next day was at 10:30. After check-in: 1. They didn’t inform us of the Ayurvedic treatment schedule until we asked, and apparently, they didn’t know themselves. 2. They suggested the treatment for the next morning, but I explained that was impossible due to our morning flight. They said one of us could do it today, but the other would have to go tomorrow. 3. When I asked twice why this happened despite my prior communication, they showed no apology or remorse and simply said the schedule was fully booked, with a very assertive attitude. 4. The doctor’s consultation felt superficial, like AI could handle it—just very simple questions. 5. Even when asking the doctor, the explanations were extremely basic, e.g., “for people with shoulder stiffness, this is recommended.” I was surprised and felt the doctor likely didn’t have significant experience in a proper facility, similar to a Japanese cosmetic doctor without substantial practical experience. 6. The staff were dry and lacked the warmth and friendliness typical of Sri Lankan people. Only the security and kitchen staff seemed genuinely friendly. I had expected a true Ayurvedic experience, but this made me realize it would be better to stay at a different facility. Still, it was a valuable learning experience. During my two weeks in Sri Lanka, I stayed mostly in homestays or with acquaintances, and this was by far the worst experience.”
