“The quality of the rooms varies according to what you have signed up for. We stayed in several hotels in Sri Lanka and the meaning of the term Deluxe room is very different to what we would regard as a deluxe room in the west and I think it is important to realise this. We were upgraded from our Deluxe room at the Hasara and had a lovely room with very good air conditioning, en suite, and TV, balcony and views. The staff were all really helpful and friendly to both ourselves and our two teenage sons. Breakfast was western if you wanted it , staff were very accepting if us being quite late for breakfast on occasion and we ate in the restaurant on several evenings and really liked the food. In summary, original deluxe room needed some work on it but upgraded room we really liked. The hotel owner ran us to the station himself which was very good of him.”
