“We booked this hotel as a family of 4 because it was within budget and one of very few hotels available for our dates of a last minute ski holiday. We had read the reviews and didn't have high hopes. However, before the trip I emailed several times about various things and was always responded to quickly and accurately. On arrival and check in we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful man who spoke English and was very helpful and accommodating! We then went to our room- a japanese Tatami/futon room. It was clean and heated and no mould. However, we heard from other guests their rooms did have mould.. It was big enough and had a clean bathroom and toilet. The shower wasn't amazing, but it worked. At dinner we were pleasantly surprised. Again, it wasn't amazing, but it was better than the reviews and there were plenty of options- katsu curry, fried meats, vegetable dishes, basic salad options etc. Considering the price we paid, we were happy! The onsen in the basement was amazing. The showers had a good pressure and great temperatures and the changing rooms super warm. We showered down here daily as well as enjoying the free onsen use. So, whilst it isn't a 5* hotel, it never pretends to be one! We thought it was pretty good value for what we paid- we were right next to the middle ski lift. There was definitely mould around the hotel and as some reviews say, the wall paper is peeling off in areas. However, this wasn't the case for the whole place. Yes, it definitely needs a bit of a renovation or facelift, but then I imagine the price will double.”
