“The check-out process was easy. Walking up to the hotel entrance; other guests who were entering saw me and quickly put on masks. Then I entered the hotel and lined up for about 15 minutes to check-in; once again when people saw me in the line - they all masked up. As a result of this discrimination; I opted to not go to the onsen at all during my stay. I have stayed here three times in the past and this was very concerning. This stay was on 1 July 2026 - they really need to get with the times - absolutely embarrassing. Just make the hotel JAPANESE ONLY and get it over with - I did not feel welcomed at all; little did people know that I was staying in the region for work the following day…. Moreover, I did not appreciate being stalked by a lady who was sitting in the foyer. I was walking out of the hotel to leave the establishment to the LOCALS when this lady ran out of the hotel and stated that she needs to ask me some questions. She does not work for the hotel and from what I could gather - works for the local tourist bureau. I am not even sure the hotel knew of her presence - it was not a good experience at all. Unfortunately, I will never return even though I frequent the area.”
