“The location was the only positive for me. The room had a musty smell. Windows did not open, and blinds could not be opened. The room was dark. Since it was "western" style, I was surprised that shoes could not go beyond the lobby. They had to go in a locker, and I had to put on their plastic slippers to go to my room. There was no elevator, and suitcases had to be carried instead of rolled. My room was only on the second floor, but my suitcase was heavy. Checkout is at 10, and check-in is at 4. Both seem extreme to me, especially since I appeared to be the only one staying there, at least the first of the two nights. I am sorry to say that the breakfast was really awful. It was "western" style but, in my mind, very strange and unappetizing. Some cold pasta with beef, sausages, etc. The bread (that I asked for), however, was excellent. I found the coffee to be watery, and there was no "real" milk available. Furthermore, breakfast is only served at 7-8:30, which seems very early for a beach (vacation) town. I skipped breakfast on the second day, even though it was included. The rate was fairly reasonable, but still not worth it. Hayama is a gorgeous town, but I recommend finding other accommodation.”
