“Rome is famously expensive and this hotel was a good compromise being a little to the south-east of the historical centre but with good transport connections. The bar on the roof was a real bonus, surprisingly underutilised and with great views (of tatty rooftops rather than the sights, but an interesting skyline nevertheless). First, the address is wrong, it is actually in a small road parallel to the road quoted. As we arrived quite late it was a pain to have to trudge round the block asking directions. I am aware that property is at a premium in Rome but the room was more cramped than I had hoped and it was hard to lay out a suitcase. There appears to be an attempt at slickness which actually feels impersonal.”
