“From the moment we arrived at reception this hotel was wonderful. The deck with swimming access to the lake is a sublime place to spend an hour with a drink or two while the water laps up against the deck. You can even stay for dinner to continue just enjoying the view. That said, the restaurant was excellent. We had several dishes for dinner between our group of four and everyone thought it was great. Our room was a mezzanine room which had a loft area upstairs with one bed and then two twins downstairs. It was spacious, had an interesting architecture to it and was charming despite the furnishings feeling dated. The location is just about as good as it get's in this town...right on the lake with views aplenty. We would love to stay here again and if we return to Malcesine, we will. It's a bit dated...the lobby looks like it was designed by someone that got an offer they couldn't refuse on a dozen tufted sofas, but once you get past that, you will see it's charms. The continental breakfast (not served by the restaurant) was passable, but the American options (dry scrambled eggs) should be skipped. The coffee machine cappuccinos are to be avoided and the offending machines should be scrapped and melted down in favor of having a real coffee made for guests even if for a charge.”
