“Roberto is the quintessential host. This could have been a ho-hum good enough place to stay, but Roberto and his family have made it an assured bright spot of your journey. We were in Laino Borgo to raft the Gorges with Pollino Rafting company & therefore needed lodging for 3 adults in 1 room & selected Pallia’s. Roberto replied almost instantly to my early arrival request and spoke clear English. Entrance planters were filled with Star Jasmine perfuming the air, nice gardens and fruit trees surrounded the property on 2 sides, gin & tonics on the front patio started our evening, a recommendation for dinner at Antico Laos (10-15 minute fantastic walk surrounded by murals and architectural inspiration) delivered a delicious local meal with neighborhood kids playing soccer just off the greenway trail, the quiet walk back…it was just perfect. Wool blankets, quality louvered windows to get fresh air, a drying rack and privacy shade on the balcony, nice towels, easy-to-reach reading lights, exceptional breakfast and coffee in a beautiful dining room with lots of natural light, and local foodie gifts to purchase at checkout were all appreciated. It’s clear they truly care about the guest experience here at Palia’s. What a gem to stumble upon! The neighbor’s dog liked to bark but eventually quieted down. The location in a curve of the main road could have been an issue if a guest is bothered by road noise,but there was hardly any traffic at all, and we could hear nothing in our room. Made us feel easily connected to the action😀. Stunning distant views.”
