“We checked in at the Evergrand Palace hotel very late in the evening around 11:30pm, with my earlder mother who is 75 year old. We booked one night to stay over to catch a 9am early flight in the morning. The room was very dirty, bed linen looked used, insects were crawling in the rooms and coming out from the shower room extractor fan, towels provided were dirty and shockingly no hot water. We complained and was told no manager was available to help us or change rooms or cancel our booking, we booked two rooms and both has same issues. It was 12am midnight my mother was very tired and it was very difficult for our mother and family to seek a new hotel plus considering that our flight was leaving at 9am with a 1hour drive to the airport we had to leave Rajkot by 6am latest in the following morning. We couldn't have a shower because of no hot water and insects crawling in the shower room, and the hotel did not provide us a breakfast box considering that my booking included breakfast. During the night insects were crawling on the bed and bit my mother, she is now suffering with a horrible rash ( photo attached). On check out the manager was still not available, I asked if compensation can be made for the lack of service, they refused. When I asked if half payment can be done, they started to threaten us by saying they will call the police, if we leave with half payment and threaten my taxi driver who was waiting outside not to take us to the airport. I paid the full amount in cash as I did not wanted to miss my flight. I tried my best to resolve the situation at the hotel, they told me that because I booked by third party (Booking.com) it is thier responsibility to resolve the situation. I booked this hotel because it's advertised as 4 star on your website. I needed a room with hot water and to be clean as my mother is disabled with asthma. I have used many 4 star hotels in Rajkot as you can see in my past trips with Booking.com.
