“We found the room a little disappointing as the outside of the hotel and photos reflected more quality. Cockroach in bathroom. Reception staff helpfully booked us an excursion on the backwaters for 3000 rs which we were told was all inclusive and the use of a tuk tuk there and back was discussed. However when reaching the landing area the tuk tuk driver needed paying. This was put down to a misunderstanding by management but left us out of budget as it was an unexpected charge. The excursion itself was a bit dull and overpriced compared to backwater trips we took on Munroe island. The local beach is having lots of construction work nearby so we didn't spend much time there. Next time visiting Alleppey we would choose to stay at the backwater side of town where there are more amenities. Breakfast was ok but we had to ask for everything and didn't realise that we could have ordered a western breakfast (omelette & toast) had we not read previous guest reviews. Perhaps a menu card of what options were available would have been helpful”
