The historic and island was home to the Fitzgerald family, Earls of Kildare & Ormonde for some 800 years. The authentic Castle's oldest portions date from mid-16th Century. Castle Garden Lodges – Our lodges are 2 storey houses located 2 minutes drive from the main Castle. Each has 3 double bedrooms upstairs & an open plan kitchen/sitting room area downstairs. Each lodge has been designed to optimise space and light. This, combined with porcelain tiling and under floor heating throughout the ground floor, ensures a seamless flow through the living areas. Full height doors and glazed wall flanking the timber staircase that leads on to a wall of light, all contribute to a sense of drama downstairs. Upstairs too, a floating ceiling with integrated lighting and hand built, high gloss fittings lend a distinctive feel to these contemporary homes. Each house has a fully equipped kitchen, breakfast bar & full 6 persons table dining area. Please note portable/disposal BBQs are not allowed at the Lodges.
