“This is the best place to stay in Saumlaki (out of a limited number of options). The grounds are pleasant and clean, the restaurant on-site is good (although pricey for the area); the rooms are large, clean, with decent facilities, the view of the sunset and bay is excellent. For the area, it's pricey, but with few other options I have no problem recommending this place to stay. The breakfast was variable - sometimes a fair, buffet style selection, sometimes you had to order a single plate from limited options (I think it depended on how many guests they had - more guests, more options). Some of the staff didn't speak English and those that did it was often limited. The place would be perfect if it had a pool (it doesn't); it's a 25 minute walk down hill to the port and town... but uphill in the heat can be tough. There are plenty of taxis and moto-taxis around if you want to use them, though, as a European, expect to pay much more than locals.”
