“Vaso, the hotel landlady, is probably one of the kindest person in the world, or at the very least she is a super kind and attentionate hotel manager! She made sure we had vegan options for breakfast and spent time preparing the dishes on her own, we had one of the best rooms available, it was super clean, cosy as you could ever hope, with a hearty wood tone, blooming flowers out front — our best experience with hotels so far. The hotel itself is in an extremely quiet place, the road there is bumpy as hell but practicable once you've seen it, and it dominates the bay of Volos, enough to give you wonderful views at all times. From there, you can easily access the village by foot (in 5 minutes or so) and have a few options at hand for restaurants. You can also drive to Makrynitsa and have lunch, coffee or diner while gazing at the Pelion and the bay, and the location is ideal to explore all the presqu'île.
