“The Crown has a relaxed atmosphere, a beautiful courtyard, excellent food, attentive staff and rooms fitted out to a high spec. I used it as a base for cycling in the Stour and Box valleys. The area feels like an England of a different era. Altogether charming. It’s rare to find a hotel in the UK that does not fail in some important detail. The Crown is remarkable in this respect: everything was just right.”
