“Stayed at Holiday Inn Haydock recently and found it to be like other IHG hotels, the hotel is clearly an older property and is starting to look a little dated in parts, with frayed carpets and by the looks of it, more paint on the doors than a dulux factory could produce, so don’t expect anything particularly modern or luxurious, it’s a good 3 star hotel. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which helped make the stay more pleasant. Check-in was quick and efficient, and check-out was just as smooth and prompt. Overall, while the hotel could benefit from a refresh, the good service and hassle-free experience make it decent enough for a short stay. I booked the dinner, bed & breakfast package, and the IHG website clearly stated that a 3-course dinner was included. However, when I asked at the hotel, I was told it was actually just a £25 allowance from the à la carte menu which realistically isn’t enough to get a full 3-course dinner. Credit to the staff though, as they honoured the original deal without any fuss. The food itself was fairly good, well presented, and everything was served correctly first time. Good location just off the M6, ideal if you’re heading to Warrington, like I was.”
