“Hotels.com relocated us to this hotel after the original hotel we booked couldn’t check us in due to being overbooked. We arrived for check in at 1am tired having spent most the day travelling. The person who checked us in was rude and demanded that hotels.com pay for 15 days worth of parking as that is what they saw on their system. They refused to check us in unless £150 was paid in addition to the fee already paid to them for bed and breakfast accommodation. We explained that we didn’t even have a car but they refused to check us in until payment was received. We explained if the booking said we needed 15 days parking then it must be an error and given the booking had only been made 10 minutes earlier could we not sort it out in the morning. Hotels.com kindly sent over new credit card authorisation and we checked in over an hour later. The room was mediocre at best with dated furniture conwebs all over and a very uncomfortable bed. They put us in a family room with 3 beds despite only 2 of us checking in. There was barely any room to move inbetween. In the morning when attempting to have breakfast they refused us saying that they wouldn’t honour the breakfast as hotels.com had only paid an additional £90 for the fly drive parking we had not requested and they wanted the full £150. Awful service, rude management and unsightly rooms. AVOID this 2* accommodation and service!!! ”
