“Great, great location. Just across the street from the Hop on Tour buses, a stone throw away from the Balmoral Hotel, 6 mins away from Waverley Train Station and round the corner from the mall, you can't seek a better space in the city. We broke up our stay (went to another city) and once we returned choose the Marriot in Holyrood for the next jaunt, but certainly apprecaited Apex much more for the location. Staff were great, accomodating and very friendly. Rita from the resturant saw my son wasn't able to get a hot chocolate from the machine and had one made for him with extra cream which certainly made his day. Appreciated that. Adding we were able to check in early having arrived at 9am which was great. The room was clean and sufficient for our needs. There is also a great noodle eatery just a few doors down where we had a great Sweet and Sour chicken, a pizza place round the corner, coffee shops (inclding a couple of Starbucks) very close by and a 7-Eleven type store 2 doors down to grab snacks and water before setting off for the day. The pool is small (under 2 m) but clean and warm with ample showers and towels/soaps. Closes at 10pm so there's plenty of time for a dip after your day's activities. Only very minor issue was the one working elevator, (we were on the 9th floor) a gripe i am sure other reviewers will mention but we did see crew working on it. Will I stay here again if in Edinburgh? YES”
