“We recently stayed for one night to celebrate my husband's birthday, the service was exceptional throughout the hotel, the stylish decor complimented the traditional architecture beautifully and the crackling log fires in the tranquil lounges were most welcoming. Our upgraded room with a view was sumptuously decorated in mooted, relaxing tones with a luxurious marble bathroom and quality toiletries. The food and drinks at dinner and breakfast were excellent, served in the spacious restaurant the menu features local, seasonal ingredients where possible and vegetarians are well catered for. Drinks are also served in any of the lounges as well as the bar so we enjoyed cocktails by the fire before dinner. The large outdoor terrace would be delightful on warmer days. There's an impressive art collection to peruse and numerous books dotted around to read in the lounges or take to your room. We spent a good hour watching Red Kites flying overhead and perched in a tree nearby and numerous small birds flitted in and out of the tall trees around the manor. Above all it's the friendly, welcoming staff who make The Hyll extra special.”
