“The Hornsbury Mill is a very charming hotel, set in beautiful grounds with a little lake. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the bed comfortable. I had the full English (vegan) breakfast and it was very tasty. The one complaint I had was that when the very charming old mill wheel is on and turning (which they switch off at 8pm), the noise made a constant thud in my room and bothered me a little. I assume it won’t be too much of a bother though to most people, who would be in bed well after 8pm, but on this particular occasion I was exhausted and needed to go to bed very early and get a good night’s rest. The other noise that bothered me was that my room # 6 was at the back of the hotel where the dumpsters are and where the staff seemed to hang out for a little while after their shift, which again disrupted my sleep. However, I did speak to someone (I assume the owner?) who was very apologetic and said he would address this. Overall I was very happy with the hotel and would recommend it.”
