“Quiet, safe location, with ample parking (although it costs an extra £10 a day!) & close to the beach (although quite a trek into town on foot). Clean spacious room & we were upgraded to one with a lovely big balcony. Plenty of storage space & big comfortable bed. Nice big, easy to use shower & free toiletries. Visited during the record temperature heatwave in late June & there’s no air con at all in the hotel. A fan is provided upon request but not really effective. Room was like a sauna! TV in our room didn’t pick up any channels (reason we got a room upgrade!). Wi-fi drops in & out all the time. No fridge (I really don’t understand why modern hotels don’t have even a small fridge in each room for milk, water etc!?). Swimming pool empty, but looks like being worked on. No TV in the bar/conference room which would’ve been a great place to watch the World Cup. Some of the staff seemed pretty aloof & unfriendly, for example when we checked out the guy on reception didn’t even say thankyou or goodbye.”
