“Nice building Check-in closes at 10:00 p.m. Since I was arriving later than that, I completed all the required steps for a late check-in, including pre-payment and the online check-in procedure. However, I never received any instructions on how to collect the room key. Fortunately, a colleague who was already staying at the hotel received instructions on my behalf. They said I should use a side entrance, ring the bell, and wait for the night porter. Unfortunately, this procedure did not work: * the doorbell was not working; * my colleague let me into the building, but there was no key available for my room; * the night porter arrived only after about 30 minutes and told me that I should have called him instead. Incidentally, another colleague of mine had experienced the same problem. He did try calling the number provided, but the only response was an automated message telling him to “call tomorrow.” On top of that, there was an unpleasant sewer smell coming from the bathroom, as it is affecting the comfort of the room.”
