“Loved Arles. It is a great city to visit. We had a fabulous meal in L'Arlatan, I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Location of this hotel was excelled. Good Breakfast. Staff. Parking. Bathroom was small but acceptable. The receptionist was helpful when we complained (see below) as we completed check-out. However the manager could not be bothered to come and see us, although did agree to reduce the rate of the room by 20% to €180, which was the rate on display anyway so no great concession on their part. We did receive the Parking for free. Very small room, no wardrobe just a cheap hanging space, no proper desk or seating area. Air conditioning so noisy we had to turn it off. It was 32 degrees so not ideal. Safe did not work. No mini fridge so nowhere to keep water cool. Small window with view of next door's air conditioning unit in a wooden construction. Hallway and lift were not clean. Hallway smelt musty and dirty. See pictures illustrating all of the above. Bar shut at 10pm. Not acceptable in a 4 star hotel. We had just been on a road trip to Portugal so had stayed in a few hotels across France and Spain, including two Mecure which both had been excellent. This was our last night and I cannot say how disappointed we were to have such a terrible room. At €217.00 it was at a price comparable or even more expensive with others that had been absolutely superb.”
