“The location to the beach I was very disappointed with my stay at Hotel Polamar. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. On arrival, I asked whether it would be possible to upgrade from my street-facing room to a sea-view room, which I was happy to pay extra for. I was told this was not possible, despite the hotel not appearing to be full. There were no facilities in the room to make tea or coffee, and the hotel was unable to provide a kettle, so I had to go out and buy one myself. The hotel also did not have any fresh milk available, meaning I had to purchase a small amount from a nearby bar at a cost of €1.25. I arrived for breakfast at 7:52 a.m., explaining that I needed to leave early for work in Alicante and only wanted a quick coffee. Despite this, I was told that under no circumstances could I enter before 8:00 a.m., so I had to leave without breakfast. When I did have breakfast the following day, the quality was poor. Much of the hot food appeared to have been sitting under heat lamps for some time. The tortilla was dry, as were the scrambled eggs. The yoghurt selection was very limited and mostly consisted of products high in sugar. To make matters worse, my room had a persistent sewage smell throughout my stay, which made it very unpleasant. Overall, I found the service inflexible, the facilities lacking, and the quality of the food disappointing. I would not choose to stay at Hotel Polamar again.”
