“We were extremely disappointed by our experience around the pool area. As a group of four, our intention was to spend our days by the pool, enjoying drinks, food, and making full use of the hotel’s facilities. Unfortunately, that changed after an unnecessary and unpleasant interaction with a member of staff. I was told by the pool bar attendant that I could not finish my ice cream, despite having only a few bites left. Rather than applying a bit of common sense and customer service, the situation was handled in a rude and abrupt manner. It wasn’t the rule itself that bothered us most, but the tone and lack of judgement shown. The encounter left such a negative impression that we chose to take our business elsewhere for the remainder of our holiday. As a result, the hotel lost out on several days’ worth of food and drink purchases from our group. Good customer service is about communication and discretion. Sadly, on this occasion, both were lacking. A little courtesy and common sense would have gone a long way.”
