“I stayed at this hotel as I was interested in visiting the U-Boat museum and the Marine memorial, and these were only a few 10’s of meters away. I contacted the hotel to explain that I probably wouldn’t be there at the time I said I would due to delays on the trains, and they explained where my key would be if there was no-one around when I arrived. When I got into my room on arrival, I noticed an item in the toilet; in the morning I spoke to housekeeping and the object was removed before I returned from breakfast. The breakfast was very nice, and well presented, as was my room. If I went to the area again, I would definitely consider staying there again. I thought the room rate was a little on the high side considering a hotel a little down the road, but still near the attractions I was going to visit, was charging less than 2/3rds the rate I paid; presumably this is why I couldn’t get a room there. . . Nothing to do with the hotel, but worth considering if you are visiting for the beach; the beach isn’t free to use, there are pay-stations along the promenade where you buy a token, or some such, to use it.”
