“I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past five to seven years, and it's one of my favorite places to stay in Cúcuta. I usually book a pool-view room. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are large, and the beds are very comfortable. Each room includes a minibar and refrigerator, which is a nice convenience. The hotel's food and drinks are very good, and the prices are reasonable. The pool is excellent, and both the front desk staff and bellhops have always provided great service. The housekeeping staff also does an excellent job keeping both the rooms and the hotel property clean. The breakfast is still okay, although it has declined somewhat over the years. I can't really complain, though, since inflation has affected Colombia quite a bit over the past few years. I may be a little biased because I've stayed at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed it, so I really wanted to give it a great review. However, there are a few issues that need to be mentioned. The biggest problem is that the hotel sells pool passes to the public. During the week, it's usually not an issue because there aren't many non-hotel guests using the pool. On weekends, especially Sundays, it's a completely different story. The pool area becomes extremely crowded. What was even more frustrating was that it seemed like the hotel prioritized pool pass guests over hotel guests. I watched several non-hotel guests receive their food and drinks while I waited nearly two hours just to get a drink. The pool itself also needs maintenance. Many tiles are missing, and parts of the pool are visibly damaged. There are only a few tables and chairs around the pool, and there are fewer lounge chairs than there used to be. It feels like the hotel is focusing more on accommodating pool pass customers than the guests who are actually staying at the hotel. The large number of non-hotel guests also raises concerns about security. With so many people coming and going, it makes me wonder how secure the hotel really is. That said, if you don't plan to spend much time at the pool or around the hotel grounds, this is still a very good place to stay. The rooms are comfortable, and the food and drinks are good. However, if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing atmosphere or expect to spend a lot of time by the pool, you may be disappointed—especially on weekends—unless you enjoy being around large crowds.”
