“I arrived in the evening and the room I got was disgusting and dirty! No one speaks English in this hotel. The receptionist tried to get someone on the phone who speaks English but this person only knew the words madam and I don´t understand. I had to get the receptionist to follow me to the room to actually show her what the problem was. Once this was done she took a long time trying to get me to stay there anyways, before actually offering a different room. The next room was a bit cleaner but I´ve come to realize this is probably as good as it gets in this hotel. It is noisy, you can hear what other people are saying in their rooms, you can also smell through your AC if someone else is smoking in a different room. The shower was full of hair and most surfaces are dirty when you touch them. Wash your hands often! The hotel is situated in the Fengxian district, which is a new business district in Shanghai. There is nothing to see here but a lot of tall buildings that Chinese people live in. There is no effective way to get out of the district either, you rely on taxi during your stay. It cost 150RMB by taxi from Shanghai train station to the hotel, which took about 2hours of traveling. This was a waste of time and money, I can not recommend this hotel to anyone. A local restaurant didn´t want to serve me because I am white. Many people will stop and point at you while yelling loud in Chinese if you do not look Asian. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!”
