“The host cancelled my room whilst I was in a taxi en route to it and offered me an alternative apartment with 200 Yen discounted from original price. I didn't have much choice given the time of day and the commitments I already had. In hindsight it was a huge mistake as the location was way too far away from where I needed to be. The host said there was a subway station only 3 minutes walk from apartment.....not true. No subway close by. It cost me way more than 200 Yen in taxis to get in and out of the city each day so I ended up worse off financially and in a worse standard of apartment based on the reviews I read for my original booking. No soundproofing.....you can literally hear every word from the next apartment via the air conditioning vents and the walls are so thin that it makes it impossible to sleep when the neighbours arrive home after midnight each night. WiFi signal was very weak.....the TV and mobile phone could not run at the same time. So overall a bit of a nightmare for me.”
