“This was a very comfortable place to stay for our first trip to Quebec City. We needed 2 bed rooms and 2 bath. What to expect.It was very clean, plenty of towels. The kitchen was well stocked. There was salt and pepper , but no coffee or tea . The check in was super smooth . This is the Saint -Roch area or lower city , and it was a good location. You could walk to the old part of the City. Close to the train station. And there were a lots of very good restaurants, patisserie and shops, that were a short walk from the Lofts. Hono Izakay was one. Also a very good supermarket less than a 5 minute walk. There was a General store with practically anything you might need, Art supplies,office , kitchen gardening, water sports etc. This particular vacation rental's entrance was not on Rue Saint-Joseph E, but on a side street. Also Booking.com was very good about letting us know of construction that is going on right next to the building. Some of the road is blocked off so not much car traffic. There was not much noise during our stay. We enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable. This is not a dislike , just what to expect if you have never stayed in this area before. Saint -Roch is described as gritty , with some areas gentrified.It was a historically a working class neighborhood. It is not touristy, but lively. There was quite a number of street people. You just need to be mindful, as in many cities. Loft, there is only one A/C unit .It's in the kitchen /living room .The windows are fixed. There was some sort of unit to exchange the air ,but we ended up getting 2 small fans for the bedrooms to help circulate the air.Both bedrooms got stuffy with heat.”
