“The most upsetting part of our stay – and the reason we will never return – was the way we were treated by the hotel staff. When it was time to leave, we asked the receptionist to help us arrange a taxi, since we don’t speak Bulgarian. We gave him the phone to talk with the same driver who had initially brought us to the hotel. After a long, suspicious conversation, the receptionist told us that the driver would not come and that he would call another taxi for us. However, instead of a taxi, a private individual showed up – likely a friend of the receptionist. The driver’s behavior was extremely rude, and he charged us three times the normal price. Even worse, he tried to grab all the money I had directly from my hand and also snatched my phone without my consent. Because the situation felt unsafe, we ended up paying, but afterward, he insulted us as well. This experience left us feeling very uncomfortable and unsafe. The hotel staff’s involvement and lack of professionalism made it clear that they were complicit, and for that reason, we strongly advise others to avoid this property.”
