“My favourite hotel in Ypres, and actually anywhere else. It is just 5 minutes from the centre of town, has free parking and an excellent restaurant with an exceptional menu. The rooms are quiet, modern but cosy with well appointed bathrooms, and lots of clothes storage, seating and clever lighting. The rooms have coffee and tea making facilities and water provided, though you’ll need to get milk if you want an English cuppa. It’s smart but not stuffy with the most helpful and pleasant staff. It’s not a budget hotel but good value and not overpriced. There is a fascinating display of First World War items and photos and even a little shop where you can stock up your fridge with wine, beer and snacks. I’m looking forward to my next trip. Oh yes… and it’s a favourite for WW1 battle fielders like me.”
