“Front desk staff was friendly and responsive. Room was decent size. Location was very good for seeing Ghent old town. Hotel lacks character. This is a modern hotel in a wonderful city, in an excellent location. However, don't be fooled by the word 'river' in the name. While it is on the river, you cannot see it except from some rooms. There is no common area (patio or similar) near the river. Our view was of a courtyard and a construction zone next door. Also, the A/C is not up to the task if there is a heat wave as there was during our visit. Our room was stuffy and warm, making sleep uncomfortable. Towels in the room were a bit old and ratty.”
