“The hotel is quite lovely, with antique furnishings and old world charm, in a very good location on the main street and close to all major attractions. The rooms are well set up, spacious, and very clean. The bed was huge and very comfortable, with nice soft sheeting. A pre-dinner drink on the balcony was very pleasant. As someone else has mentioned, there is no bar and the restaurant is closed, but there are plenty of places for a drink and a meal in York. The York Palace Hoel was a welcome relief after some of our outback hotel experiences. The price was reasonable. Being on the main street, there was some traffic noise with some locals obviously excited to knock of work for the day - BUT this would have been the same everywhere along the main road and it wasn't an issue. All in all, this is a very nice boutique hotel and is recommended.”
